Martin Bisi + Daisy Daisy

Martin Bisi is a producer, musician and central figure in the musical history of NYC for the past four decades. Martin Bisi’s long journey as a producer in New York, can be heard in his eponymous band. They create soundscapes that weave in and out of the mostly political songs -a kaleidoscope with a wide psychological and sonic range.

The band are touring in support of BC35 Volume Two -2nd installment of the album marking the 35year anniversary of his recording studio – BC Studio, with new music from people that are part of that history:

Founding BC Studio in 1981 with the help of Brian Eno and Bill Laswell, Bisi has recorded landmark music there by Sonic Youth, Swans, John Zorn, Africa Bambaataa, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop, Herbie Hancock’s Rockit, Violent Femmes, JG Thirlwell/Foetus, US Maple, Dresden Dolls and countless others.

Daisy Daisy is an Utrecht based post-punk / cold-wave band. Driven by electronic drums, sharp synths and guitars drenched in reverberation, the band reminds you of eighties heroes like Gary Numan, The Fall and Fad Gadget.

With “psycho euro dude” Victor Crepsley on vocals, the band addresses childlike themes ranging from colorful plastics to outer space trips. After one year of playing shows on events like Eurosonic, Red Light Radio and Le Mini Who?! through the Netherlands, you can say Daisy Daisy flows in between the world of gritty electronics and sweaty punk nights.
